Image Analysis

Robert Polidori
Chernobyl
2001

I draw my attention to the red board in the middle, as it is extremely bright compared to rest of the photo. Also it has written something on the board, exact translation of it is "There is no return, Good Bye Pripyat" and date 28th april of 1986. This tells me that there is some history behind it, and by looking at this destroyed place we can state that its not very happy. The name of the picture says for itself, many of us know what happened in Chernobyl in 1986. By looking around the room you can see that everything is dirty and is in dust, this signify that there is no sign of life for quite long time. Also the plasticine that you can see on the first desk has gone all brown it looks like rust. Doors on the background are leading into another room, which we can see that is destroyed and abandoned as well.

Formal Elements(Shape)

Edward Burtynsky
This picture shows how Ship is being taken apart, primary object of this picture is the ship that is on the front. Secondary object is the ship on the left by looking at it you can see that it hasn't beet taken apart so much as the one that is in front of us, or maybe we just can't see the difference from this angle.

Formal Elements(Texture)

John Blakemore
This picture is made by John Blakemore named Seascape. This picture shows stones in the mist.  This is good texture picture because it draws our attention on two main things stones and mist. Mist which is lying over stones makes feeling of mystery as we don't know where this place is and why is it there. As you can see there are many different shaped stones, which make this picture even more mysterious as for example stone in the left in the middle looks like is from water. Stone in the top left looks like it is from hill or mountains, so we can't say where this picture was made.

Formal Elements(Space)

Lee Friedlander

This picture is made by Lee Friedlander, this picture shows you three places at once. On the left it shows where they are, picture on the right shows where they will go, and part in the mirror  shows where they have been too. Whole picture looks like it has been collected from three different picture, only cloud in the sky's helps to realise that this is one picture.

Formal Elements(Line)

Ansel Adams

For the Line Element ill use another photo of Ansel Adams, because going through his photos, i found many amazing photos of different type.
This picture has a forest on it, trees that are on the front are white and without leaves. But if you look at the background you will see that other trees are normal trees with leaves. This out lines this white trees that are on the front.

Formal Elements(Form)

Ansel Adams
I chose this picture as example of form because it has sense of moon being close to us so we can touch it.
Also the shadow that is lying at the bottom of the valley is showing that its day, how ever you still can see the moon.
Valley itself looks small, if it was unreal, made out of paper.

Rush up Tree Very Far Webimage
The picture is made by Tony White. This picture represents wilderness and mystery, and mist in the background makes it look amazing. The snow which covers the grass looks like a mist travelling across the mountain.
